Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Please note: Policies may be updated as needed. By enrolling, you agree to all camp policies.


WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO CAMP?

We recommend:

  • Comfortable, mess-friendly clothing (art can get messy!)
  • Closed-toe shoes for safety
  • A light jacket or sweater (studio can get cool)

Aprons are provided, but we still encourage clothes you don’t mind getting stained.


WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING?

Please send your child with:

  • Nut-free lunch (for full-day campers)
  • Nut-free snacks (optional—we provide one daily snack)
  • Refillable water bottle (labeled)

Please label all belongings.

🚫 Do not bring:

  • Jewelry
  • Electronics
  • Toys or valuables

(Bloomfield is not responsible for lost or stolen items.)


HOW DOES DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP WORK?

Art Camp (Full Day):

  • Drop-off: 8:45 – 9:00 AM
  • Pick-up: 4:00 – 4:05 PM

Art Camp (Half Day – Morning):

  • Drop-off: 8:45 – 9:00 AM
  • Pick-up: 11:00 – 11:05 AM

Art Camp (Half Day – Afternoon):

  • Drop-off: 12:45 – 1:00 PM
  • Pick-up: 3:00 – 3:05 PM

Sewing Camp:

  • Camp Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Drop-off: 9:45 – 10:00 AM
  • Pick-up: 12:00 – 12:05 PM

Crochet Camp:

  • Camp Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Drop-off: 12:45 – 1:00 PM
  • Pick-up: 3:00 – 3:05 PM

Important:
Parents/guardians are required to come inside for both drop-off and pick-up. This helps us ensure a safe and smooth check-in/check-out process for every child.

For pick-up:

  • A Safety Word system is required
  • Only authorized individuals with the safety word can pick up your child 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M LATE FOR PICK-UP?

We understand that delays can happen. To ensure proper staffing and supervision:

  • Campers picked up after their scheduled time will be moved to after care (if available).
  • An after care fee of $15 will be applied, even if you notify us in advance.

Please plan to arrive on time, as our team schedules and camper-to-staff ratios are based on designated camp hours.

If you know you’ll be late, notify us as soon as possible so we can accommodate your child safely.


DO YOU OFFER BEFORE OR AFTER CARE?

Yes for full-day campers!

  • Before Care (8:00 – 9:00 AM): $10
  • After Care (4:00 – 5:30 PM): $15
  • Both: $20

Campers enjoy games, crafts, and supervised free play during this time.


WHAT DOES A TYPICAL CAMP DAY LOOK LIKE?

Each day is filled with:

  • Guided art or project-based instruction
  • Creative exploration
  • Games and social time
  • Snack/lunch breaks (Art Camp)

Weekly Showcases:

  • Art Camp: Fridays at 3:30 PM
  • Sewing Camp: Fridays at 11:30 AM
  • Crochet Camp: Fridays at 2:30 PM

Families are invited to join and celebrate their child’s creations 🎨


WILL MY CHILD LEAVE THE STUDIO DURING CAMP?

All camp activities are primarily held inside the studio to ensure safety, structure, and comfort.


WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIES OR NEEDS MEDICATION?

  • We are a nut-free environment
  • Please inform us of all allergies during registration
  • If medication is required, a Medication Authorization Form must be completed at check-in

WHAT IS YOUR ILLNESS POLICY?

For the safety of all campers:

  • Please do not bring your child if they are sick
  • If a child shows symptoms during camp, parents will be contacted for immediate pickup

CAN I VISIT MY CHILD DURING CAMP?

To maintain a smooth and secure environment:

  • Visits are limited to scheduled showcase times
  • If needed, you may contact the Camp Director

CAN I PICK UP MY CHILD EARLY?

Yes!
Please notify us at least 15 minutes in advance so we can prepare your child for pickup.


WHAT IS YOUR BEHAVIOR POLICY?

We aim to create a positive and inclusive environment:

  • Kindness and respect are expected at all times
  • We use positive reinforcement
  • There is zero tolerance for bullying or unsafe behavior

WHAT IF MY CHILD CAN’T ATTEND? CAN I GET A REFUND?

Due to the limited availability of camp spots and advance staffing, we do not offer refunds for camp registrations.

However, we understand that plans can change. When possible:

  • We can transfer your child’s enrollment to another camp week (based on availability), or
  • Provide a credit to your Bloomfield account that can be used toward future classes, camps, or workshops

We always do our best to work with families and find a solution that fits your needs.
